Bertha Mwarija

Bertha Mwarija is a Senior Associate in Bowmans' Dar es Salaam office, specialising in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and competition law. She advises local and international clients on Fair Competition Commission clearances, corporate restructuring, and regulatory compliance across the mining, energy, telecommunications, and finance sectors.

She has assisted in advising telecommunication and mining companies on restructuring and compulsory public listing of shares on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange, and has provided advice on cross‑jurisdictional commodity finance transactions, secured convertible loans, and rural electrification projects. She also provides company secretarial services and advises on intellectual property registration, land, employment, and immigration matters. She has advised mining companies on local content shareholding and obtaining required approvals and licences.

Bertha holds a Post‑Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Ruaha University College, Iringa. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
