Dr. Fayaz A. Bhojani

Dr. Fayaz A. Bhojani is the Managing Partner of FB Attorneys, one of Tanzania’s leading law firms, specialising in arbitration and mediation. He has over 20 years of experience in corporate legal affairs and co‑leads the firm’s litigation team, having represented national, regional, and multinational clients, including state‑owned companies and investors, before distinguished tribunals such as the London Court of International Arbitration, the ICC International Court of Arbitration, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, and the DIFC Courts, as well as the Court of Appeal and High Courts in Tanzania.

He has successfully negotiated and completed several large transactions in the energy and extractive industries, having been involved in mergers in the oil and gas and mining sectors with total value of over USD 50 billion and tax disputes in excess of USD 120 billion. He is recognised for his ability to deal with legally complex litigation matters and has been consistently ranked as a leading top lawyer in Tanzania by Chambers and Partners, IFLR1000, and The Legal 500, which called him “a skilled strategist.”

He holds a PhD in Law from the University of London, an LL.M from Berkeley Law School, University of California, an LL.B from the University of London, and a B.Com from McGill University. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society. He regularly authors two of FB Attorneys’ most popular publications—Legal Update and the weekly Q&A with FB Attorneys.
