Waziri Mchome

Waziri Mchome is a Consultant in the Dar es Salaam office, specialising in commercial litigation and dispute resolution. He is a commercial litigation lawyer with extensive experience in labour, tax, corporate, commercial, banking, insurance, public and natural resources law, as well as arbitration and general commercial litigation, and has practiced as an advocate for over 20 years.

He has represented a wide range of clients in significant disputes, including Royal Insurance in arbitration proceedings regarding a USD 3 million claim, Engen Petroleum Tanzania Ltd in more than 30 debt recovery cases, CRDB Bank Ltd in suits by and against the bank, and Tanzania Harbours Authority (now Tanzania Ports Authority) in various cases. He has also advised and acted for Barrick Gold Corporation and its subsidiaries, including North Mara Gold Mine Ltd, Pangea Minerals Ltd, and Buzwagi Gold Mines Ltd, as well as Siemens Tanzania Ltd, Southern Sun Hotels Tanzania Limited, Stanbic Bank Limited, Nokia Solutions and Network Limited, and Tanzania Breweries Limited. He has also represented the United Republic of Tanzania in various disputes as a State Attorney.

He holds an LL.B (Hon) and LL.M from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
