Alex Devereux

Alex Devereux is a Legal Director based in the Nairobi office, practicing in Mergers and Acquisitions. He leads cross-border transactions across Africa, with a focus on major infrastructure projects and cross-border M&A, advising on corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, divestments, private equity and venture capital transactions, and joint venture arrangements, as well as projects and construction matters such as PPP, project financing, and EPC contracting.

Notable transactions include advising Ascent Capital Africa on its exit from Guardian Health Ltd (awarded East Africa Private Equity Deal of the Year by DealMakers Africa Awards 2023), advising Adenia Partners on its 100% acquisition of Africa Biosystems Limited, and advising Premier Solar Group on the sale of a 50% stake in its East African operations to Starsight Energy. He also advised the Federal Government of Somalia on its concession agreement for the rehabilitation and operation of Mogadishu Port.

Alex is admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales and joined the firm's global projects and construction group in London in 2016 before moving to Dar es Salaam and then Nairobi in 2021. He is a member of the firm's Climate Resilience Group and GECCO, the firm's gender equality committee.
