Chris Green

Chris Green is a Director at ALN Tanzania | A&K Tanzania, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate law, and cross‑border transactions. He has built and led teams of corporate and commercial lawyers in South Africa and Tanzania, advising on some of the most significant cross‑border M&A transactions across East and Southern Africa, including in the energy and natural resources, telecommunications, consumer, and financial institutions sectors.

He has advised Swedfund and IFU on their acquisition of a majority interest in Sturdee Energy, FMO on its equity co‑investment in Commercial Cold Holdings and Merensky Timber, and All4Labels GmbH on its acquisition of First Impression Labels. He has also advised Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd. on a proposed acquisition of a battery metal mine in Zimbabwe, Capitalworks on its acquisition of the Tanzanian insurance broking business of AON, and Coca‑Cola Beverages Africa on its acquisition of a majority interest in Almasi Beverages Limited in Kenya. He has advised on significant energy and infrastructure matters, including the joint acquisition of Bharti Airtel's tower portfolio in Tanzania, and has acted for clients in competition proceedings before the Tanzanian Fair Competition Commission.

Chris holds an LL.B from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (2005) and is an Admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
