Oscar Mashaguri

Oscar Mashaguri is an Associate in the Corporate and M&A practice, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He advises clients across multiple industries, including mining, telecommunications and energy, on regulatory compliance, due diligence, and corporate transactions in Tanzania. He was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of Tanzania in December 2019.

He has conducted legal due diligence and assisted in the acquisition of 95% of the issued share capital of Tanzania International Container Terminal Services Limited (TICTS) by Adani Ports and SEZ, and assisted with the acquisition of Habari Node, a Tanzanian internet service provider, by Mawingu, covering due diligence, transaction documentation, and merger notifications to the Fair Competition Commission and the Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority. He has also conducted legal due diligence for a global energy company on the acquisition of liquid bulk storage terminals in East Africa, and assisted a mining company with uranium projects in Tanzania with a merger notification. He has provided regulatory advice to a European‑based satellite operator, advised solar energy companies on compliance with the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority, and assisted multiple companies with market entry and business setup in Tanzania.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania and a Post‑Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law School of Tanzania. He is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
