Edith Joel

Edith Joel is an Associate at ALN Tanzania | A&K Tanzania, specialising in Banking and Finance Law, with experience across corporate law, employment law, contract law, and probate matters. She advises domestic and international clients on complex financing transactions, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance across various sectors.

She has advised Société de Promotion et de Participation pour la Coopération Économique (Proparco) on a USD 50 million facility to CRDB Bank Plc, and Deutsche Bank AG, Amsterdam Branch on the Amendment and Restatement Agreement relating to a borrowing base facility to Trafigura Pte Ltd. She has provided legal advice on banking regulations issued in 2025, and has acted for Citibank Tanzania on various legal issues affecting banking services in Tanzania. She has also advised Mastercard on regulatory requirements for mobile network services to licensed payment system providers in Tanzania. In addition, she has advised international companies on merger clearance, the World Bank on competition and antitrust law matters, and DP World on employment matters relating to the transfer of employees from the Tanzania Ports Authority.

Edith holds an LL.B from the University of Dar es Salaam (2022) and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Law School of Tanzania (2023). She is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
