Samiath Mohamed

Samiath Mohamed is a Senior Associate at A&K Tanzania, specialising in Banking and Finance Law, corporate law, data protection, and anti‑money laundering. She advises domestic and international clients on complex banking and finance transactions, corporate governance, and regulatory compliance, with deep expertise in financing structures, security documentation, and regulatory approvals across Tanzania.

She has acted for Citibank Tanzania on annual reviews and restructuring of financing documents, including guarantee agreements, term loan facilities, foreign exchange agreements, and pledge and assignment agreements, and has advised on a USD 100 million facility to Dangote Industries and a USD 300 million facility to Said Salim Bakhressa. She has also worked on facilities for the International Finance Corporation, Credit Suisse, Standard Bank, ABSA, and the China Development Bank. She has advised clients including American Express, Mastercard, Alipay, Airtel, and Tigo on payment system regulations and electronic money issuance services, and has provided company secretarial services to Toyota Tanzania, Citibank Tanzania, and M‑Kopa Solar Tanzania. She has also advised on acquisitions involving Zantel, Britam Insurance, Sanitas Hospital, and mining sector suppliers on local content reporting requirements.

Samiath holds an LL.B from the University of Dar es Salaam (2012) and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Law School of Tanzania (2014). She is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
