Thomas Nguluma

Thomas Nguluma is a Partner at Rex Advocates, heading the Banking, Financial Law and Project Finance department. He specialises in Banking and Finance Law, with expertise in project finance, capital market transactions, mergers and acquisitions, competition law, and intellectual property. He has been ranked as a Rising Star by IFLR1000 and The Legal 500.

He has advised on major transactions in banking and finance, significant power generation projects, bond transactions, and M&A deals, including the acquisition of a leading automotive company in Tanzania. He also has experience in commercial and civil litigation, including participation as a team member in significant international arbitration cases (ICC) for TANESCO, involving the predominant electricity and power supply company in Tanzania, in arbitrations seated in Dubai and Dar es Salaam.

Thomas holds an LL.B (Hons) from Middlesex University, London and an LL.M from Nottingham Trent University, Nottingham. He is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East Africa Law Society.
