Geofrey Dimoso

Geofrey Dimoso is the Country Partner at A&K Tanzania, with over 15 years of experience in private practice and in‑house legal roles in the banking sector. He specialises in banking and finance law, corporate law, telecommunications, competition law, and real estate law, advising domestic and international banks on a full range of financial, banking, corporate and commercial law issues.

He has acted for Credit Suisse AG in connection with loan facilities to the Ministry of Finance of Tanzania, for Africa Export‑Import Bank and various co‑financiers in a multi‑jurisdictional syndicated debt facility to the Smile Group of companies, and for Cargill Financial Services International in connection with recovery of a loan granted to Bank M. He has advised Eutelsat/Konnect Broadband Tanzania on licensing for satellite broadband services, PayU on online payment services, and Aceli Africa on regulatory approvals for expanding financial services to agricultural SMEs. He has also acted for Huaxin Cement Company on its acquisition of Maweni Limestone and for FirstRand Bank on internal restructuring of shares. He regularly reviews and drafts security documents including debentures, mortgages, guarantees, and pledges for Exim Bank Tanzania, Citibank Tanzania, Stanbic Bank Tanzania, I&M Bank Tanzania, and CBA Bank Tanzania.

Geofrey holds an LL.M in Corporate and Commercial Laws and an LL.B from the University of Dar es Salaam. He is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society. He has served as a member of the task force assigned to review the Tanzanian Land Act, 1999, which led to the enactment of the Mortgage (Special Provisions) Act, 2008 and its regulations.
