Jacqueline Tarimo

Jacqueline Tarimo is a Senior Associate in Bowmans' Dar es Salaam office, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A). She advises clients on corporate, finance, banking, telecommunications, competition, and aviation law, with a strong focus on cross-border M&A transactions and regulatory compliance.

She has advised Zhonghong Holding Co. Ltd on the Tanzanian aspects of its acquisition of 90.5% of the issued shares of Abercrombie & Kent Group of Companies SA (estimated deal value: USD 412 million), and has served as Tanzanian counsel to the Carlyle Group on its acquisition of a majority interest in AK Life Sciences. She also advised CDC Group Plc on its USD 180 million equity investment in Liquid Telecom, and advised Rio Tinto Mining & Exploration Limited on its proposed transaction with Strandline Resources Limited. She has advised on the setting up of financial institutions, aircraft finance and leasing transactions, and has handled company secretarial matters for companies including Modern Times Group (MTG), SEW Eurodrive Ltd, and Beach Petroleum.

Jacqueline holds an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Dar es Salaam and an LL.M in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK. She is a member of the Tanganyika Law Society and the East African Law Society.
